Privacy Policy

Hilearners AI runs Hilearners AI. This page explains what information we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

Your name, email address, school, class or department, and your matric number or the ID we create for you. We also store your learning activity (lessons completed, quiz and mock exam scores), the files, messages and documents you add, project submissions and feedback, and meeting details.

Why we use it

To run your account, show your school's courses, let lecturers and teachers review your work, send you verification and password reset emails, and show progress to you and, for school pupils, to a parent or guardian linked by your school.

AI features

When you use the AI tutor or the research writing assistant, the text you type is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce an answer. Do not type passwords or sensitive personal details into these tools.

Video meetings and live classes

Video calls run through a video provider (8x8 JaaS or a Jitsi server). Audio and video are shared with the other people in the call. We do not record calls.

Who can see your information

Your school's administrators, your lecturers or teachers, and a linked parent or guardian can see information relevant to them. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Cookies

We use one session cookie to keep you logged in and protect forms. We do not use advertising cookies.

Children

If you are under 18, a parent, guardian or your school must agree to your use of Hilearners AI. Parents and guardians can ask us to access or delete a child's information.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your information while your account is open. You can ask us to correct or delete it at any time, and we will do so unless the law or your school requires us to keep it.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how it is used, as provided by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
